Like their human companions, cats can also suffer from liver cancer. This disease thankfully is not very common in our furry little friends. Sadly though, the death rate is very high and treatment is very expensive.

If you can have cancer of the liver diagnosed early the chances for survival are increased and the treatment course is much easier. What should be known is that liver cancer is wholly preventable. You can help prevent liver cancer in your cat with the right types of food, exercise, plenty of fresh clean water, and nutritional supplements.

The causes of liver cancer in cats is caused by many factors which include their genetic predisposition, their environment, and diet. A sign of liver cancer is the presence of a tumor in the liver tissue. What needs to be found out is if this is the first location of the cancer or did it form elsewhere then spread to the liver. These types of cancer are highly aggressive and again, early diagnosis is critical. This is why twice-yearly visits to your veterinarian is important.

Some of the first signs of pending problems include frequent vomiting, rapid unexplained weight loss, having a poor appetite, excessive lethargic periods and diarrhea. If you are seeing these signs do not hesitate to bring your cat in for an immediate check-up. You know your little friend better than anybody else and if you see their health has changed – there is always a reason why!

If your cat has bloody urine, this is not a good sign. If you notice that your cat is urinating bloody urine, then something is definitely wrong with your cat and it needs to be taken for a veterinarian examination to ascertain the root cause of the problem. Most often bloody urine is caused by a urinary track infection or something even more serious. If you notice that your cat is very weak, it may be anemia which could result in your pet collapsing and even death.

Bloody urine in cat is know as Hematuria. It just means the presence of blood in the urine. This bloody urine can be both visible and invisible in the urine. The invisible form can be seen under a microscope while the later can be seen visibly. Routinely check your cat’s litter box for any changes in their normal defecation.

Cats have stress? Sure they do! Cats need special diets and special treatment just like any other household resident. Cats rely on humans to know what is best, and educated pet owners should design their pet’s nurturing and care with these factors in mind. Cats can get stressed out when furniture is rearranged or there is nothing rough to claw on, or get nervous because they are bored and have a lot of energy.

How many litter boxes do older cats need? Why is a scratching post necessary? Why is declawing not advisable? Why does the fur not grow better? Is a single cat too lonely? Questions crowd the new cat owner’s minds as well as someone who has had the same cat for fifteen years. Some cats fear other cats, hate unknown spaces, won’t go to the vet’s, or generally puzzle their owner with some new weirdness. But the cat’s responses are natural.

Cats are part of the felicidae family, and any cat worth the name is known for speed, stealth, and lithe bodies with glossy fur and watchful eyes. Cats worldwide can be predators and even hunt by night. But the domestic cat differs from its in-the-wild neighbours by being compromised by to much food, a sedentary lifestyle, possible health problems, and unbalanced diet.

A veterinarian can make a recommendation for general weight per cat breed. A Siamese or Rex cat will have a very slender profile, while a Persian or Abyssinian cat will be more flesh-wearing. But every cat can develop weight problems, especially if injuries or illness prevent normal action and exercise.

Domestic cats make excellent mousers but can suffer from too much manufactured cat food products, snacks fed to them by strangers as “strays”, or random tidbits the family dinner table. Although cats are known for liking a milk or cream product, milk itself can alter or hurt the domestic cat’s internal systems.
